FRANK FRAZETTA - FIRE AND ICE - PAINTING (1981)
Frank Frazetta Fire and Ice Painting Original Art (1981). This painting done in charcoal, gouache and watercolor on board was done by Frazetta to show the Fire and Ice illustrators how to establish the proper mood for scenes.
In private conversations with Frazetta, Doc Dave Winiewicz asked about this original and Frazetta explained that the piece was "almost perfect" and achieved what he wanted to convey to the illustrators.
Frazetta used the delicate technique that he used in the famous "Golden Girl" illustration with some of the background elements and in the girl, purposely didn't show her face to draw the eye to her form and physique. All of the elements of this piece were executed in a manner to convey that mood that Frazetta was looking for.
The art has an approximate image area of 11.5" x 8", and has been matted and framed with glass for an overall size of 19.5" x 16.25".
Excellent condition.
